Speaker Series

Our Speaker Series is where Scugog’s past meets lively storytelling.

Four evenings each year, we invite historians, authors, archaeologists, and other experts to share fresh perspectives on the people, places, and events that shaped our region—and beyond.

Expect surprises: past talks have uncovered the real‑life stories that inspired Murdoch Mysteries, unraveled the engineering drama of the Avro Arrow, traced the centuries‑old art of falconry, spotlighted local restoration and the stories of projects unearthed by archaeologists. Each session blends visuals, anecdotes, and Q‑and‑A time so you can dive deeper into the details that fascinate you most.

Love a good book? When an author takes the podium, their titles are available for purchase and signing—perfect for adding to your home library or finding a unique gift.
